It is the second snow-themed course after Cool, Cool Mountain. The entrance to the course is in the mirror room on the second floor of the Mushroom Castle , to the left.
While there is no actual painting for the player to jump into, the painting is reflected in the mirror, which shows the same painting as the one used for Cool, Cool Mountain. The name of this course may be a pun on " no man's land.
The entire course takes place around and on a large snowman-shaped mountain. The player starts off in a snowfield next to the course's cannon and Star Marker , though the Star Marker is absent in the DS version due to it being moved to inside the igloo. To the left are a trio of Spindrifts and a Money Bags , along with either an ice sculpture or stacks of Ice in the N64 or DS version, respectively.
To the right of the starting area are several slopes overlooking a ravine with an Amp circling around inside it. Then go out on top of the ice cube and fall into the other hole to take the star. Go to the "Ice Track" and jump on a villain in the water to make a spin that will take you to the other side of the wall. The star is in the left block. Visit the page dedicated to coins. Take the carapace next to star 4 , and take the small climb with 3 pieces next to the "ice track".
Enter the igloo while crawling. Go under the star and turn right then left. Go over the ice wall to take the blue cap. Turn right and run up the ramp to the top platform. In Super Mario 64, Dorrie is required to reach the Star, as the land that the Star is on is elevated off the ground.
Metal-Head Mario Can Move! Catch all 8 glowing Rabits to get, the key for this door. Enter the one-star door on the upper-right area inside the castle and go past the doors for Mario, Luigi and Wario and hop into the painting to start the level. In the room leading to Jolly Roger Bay, there will be a black alcove in the wall to the right of the entrance. Back-flip into it, and you will be transported to an aquarium.
Collect the 8 red coins to gain a Power Star. In the Courtyard outside the castle, proceed to your right.
Then, you should see 4 red bricks. Break them, and you shall be transported to Battle Fort. Collect the 5 Silver Stars, while avoiding the many enemies, to gain a Power Star. When you have 14 Power Stars and you are playing as Mario, there should be a stream of light shining at the ground.
Look up at the sun, and you will be transported to the Rainbow Tower. There will be the? Switch, and 8 red coins. Collect all 8 red coins to gain a Power Star. The player will need to be Metal Wario to collect the 8 red coins in the speeding river in Hazy Maze Cave. To get there, the player must travel to where you would find Dorrie. Then ride Dorrie until she gets to where the Double Doors are.
Jump off, enter the doors, follow the hallway until you get to the portal. Enter and collect 8 red coins. If you are Mario, you can collect yet another Power Star. Go to the end, where there is an island, and a? Float straight up, following the coins, until you reach the Power Star. The player has to collect all 8 red coins over obstacles with all 3 plumbers. First, you need to drain the moat, and have Wario break the black brick. The player will grab Mario's hat, then head back to the end of the slope.
Hit the? Block to gain the Floating ability. Float through the course to get the top to gain a Power Star. The player will have to collect the 8 red coins while flying through the clouds. First the player will enter the alcove on the right by Tick Tock Clock.
