Just astonishing what mammals, including us can do. I think its very interesting that dolphins sleep with one eye open and one eye closed. I have to sleep with both my eyes shut. It would be very interesting to experience or watch a dolphin sleep.
Another thing I think is cool is that dolphins can be underwater without breathing for about seven minutes. I can only be underwater without breathing for about seconds.
Dolphins can't sleep on the surface with out swimming if they sleep with half of their brain awake they can still swim but, if they sleep on the surface they can sink and because they will not notice that they are sinking its like if you are asleep can you tell if you roll over on the bed no right ,so they can't tell either.
I think this is amazing because its cool how they sleep compared to humans. It would be cool to see this in real life. Its a good way to protect yourself. I can't imagine how dolphins can sleep with one eye open. I think it's cool how dolphins can do that. It would be awesome if humans could do that too.
Your first thought may have been humans. Unlike dolphins, most humans can only hold their breath for about 30 seconds to a minute. On the other hand, a more impressive contender is the whale. Whales, much like dolphins, have the ability to conserve oxygen and can, in turn, hold their breath for up to 90 minutes!
So, the next time you hold your breath, think about what it might be like if you were a dolphin! These animals sure do have some unique abilities! Learn more about these amazing creatures with our Bottlenose Dolphin Fact Guide.

Add comment. Great time. Fun and very informative. We made it easy for him as we fish Being from CT when it hit 75 degrees and raining Captain John had to put his raincoat on and my son and I had alot of fun razzing him. We caught a bunch of fish saw some manatees and dolphin even helped save a baby turtle.
Was a great time will decently be back next time we are there. My wife and I scheduled a paddle boarding trip through Lucy at Casa Del Mar with Brian and we didn't find out until we arrived at am that it Brian was absolutely the most fun tour guide and we will definitely be scheduling another tour in the future!
This was my first experience paddle boarding and it was so easy. I only fell off once! Thanks Brian for the awesome time! We were wanting to fish the ocean when we arrived we were not told that we would not be able to fish the ocean until we were on the water.
Don't waste your money with this organization. Captain Josh was awesome! All I can say is it did not disappoint! We had an amazing time We had an afternoon to burn at Ponce Inlet It was just my family of 5, including 3 girls and Josh was awesome at keeping everyone entertained.
He did not disappoint! We saw the inlet up close and got a great rundown of local geography and history. Josh was awesome at pointing out points of interest on land and the water. Then he put us right on the dolphins. We saw so many, we lost count. My kids went bonkers when we spotted some baby dolphins.
Being a private tour the only way to go , Josh was able to get us up close and personal to the dolphins and was very knowledgeable about dolphins in general. We finished up with a stop to fill our pockets up with shells and our two hours were up before we knew it. Josh had some great commentary on the houses and marinas in the area. His boat handling skills were excellent and he is a very personable guide. Overall, we were all very happy with our tour.
Not only do you get to go fishing but you see bald eagles, manatees, and Dolphins. We come here every time we come to Daytona. Catch fish on every visit. My catch this visit is not my biggest but the weather was great!
Our family had the best time today on the paddleboard tour with Brian. Brian goes out of his way to provide a great experience for all. Our kids said it I always have to include nature in my vacations so this group was a good choice.
The manatees are not that visible or active in the area yet, better a The dophins were popping up all around us, mostly at a distance, but a few times they were closer so we could see them beautifully as they surfaced. The boat was quite comfortable, not crowded and well shaded with great commentary. We were told to be there half an hour before but there was no reason for that. Everybody else on the boat arrived at about 3 minutes if The trip wasn't worth the price we paid.
Be aware there is no bathroom on this boat. The trip is only about 90 minutes but when you have little ones they seem to just have to go right then and there. Thankfully ours didn't do that but one child had to. This trip was not all hyped up to what it was to be. The crew we had were very friendly and knowledgeable. Had a great time, family of five. Caught well over 10 species of fish with some nice keepers. My oldest daughter caught a shark and a ray, Captain John was great, put us on fish quickly and kept our teens entertained.
When all was done, he cleaned the fish introduced us to Joey his pet egret lol. The kids loved it all, got to catch fish, see dolphin and sea turtles, maybe a manatee. I would highly recommend this group. We've been here twice and they are 10 on the fun scale. Danielle and Jen were very knowledgeable. Saw a large pod of dolphins, lots of birds, and stopped at Shell Island to collect some amazing shells that were much better than An amazing place for friendly staff, and our Captain DOC, knows his stuff!
We have taken this fishing trip 5 times now. We come 4. Plenty of fish too. We scheduled our tour same day and they were able to accommodate. Our guide was Quincey who was fun and gave us a great tour. He personalized our tour for Thanks for a good time. We went paddle boarding and Brian was our guide.
